Bintulu rental handover checklist: protect the tenant and owner record

Before paying a booking fee or deposit, confirm who is authorised to rent the property and ask for the written terms. Check the monthly rent, deposit components, tenancy duration, notice period, utility responsibility, furniture list, repair process and any building rules.

At key collection, take dated photos and video of each room, meter readings, keys, appliances, walls, doors and existing defects. Put the inventory and condition record in writing and share it with the owner or agent promptly. Do not rely only on a verbal promise.

Before moving out, refer to the agreement for notice, cleaning, repairs and return of keys. Request a clear inspection process and retain the handover record, bills and deposit communication until the final account is settled.
